Our Mission

Mental health tools should not be a luxury. Yet for millions of people around the world, the gap between therapy sessions can feel isolating and overwhelming. MoodStead exists to bridge that gap by putting clinically-informed tracking and therapeutic exercises directly in your pocket.

We set out to democratize access to evidence-based mental health tools. Whether you are managing a diagnosed condition, working through therapy exercises, or simply trying to understand your emotional patterns better, MoodStead provides the structure and support you need. Our tools are designed to make daily tracking simple, meaningful, and even calming.

We believe that understanding your mental health should not require a medical degree. By presenting your data in clear, actionable formats and providing guided therapeutic exercises, we help you become an active participant in your own wellness journey. MoodStead is the companion that is always there, between appointments, during difficult moments, and through the daily work of building healthier habits.

Our Approach

Every decision we make is guided by three core principles.

Evidence-Based

Every tool in MoodStead is grounded in clinical research. CBT thought records follow the structure used in cognitive behavioral therapy. Behavioral activation exercises are based on established protocols for depression treatment. The safety plan follows the Stanley-Brown Safety Planning Intervention. We do not guess at what might help; we build on decades of clinical evidence.

Privacy-First

Your mental health data is deeply personal. That is why all data in MoodStead is encrypted at rest and in transit. We never sell your data, never share it with advertisers, and never use it for purposes beyond providing you with the service. You can export or delete your data at any time. Your information is always under your control.

Calming by Design

Our interface uses warm tones, generous spacing, and muted colors specifically chosen to avoid triggering anxiety or distress. The cream backgrounds, soft teal accents, and rounded shapes are intentional design choices. We consulted with therapists and UX researchers to ensure that using MoodStead feels safe and soothing, even when you are logging difficult experiences.

  • A replacement for therapy

    MoodStead supplements professional care but does not replace the relationship with a qualified therapist or psychiatrist.

  • A medical device

    MoodStead is not FDA-approved or certified as a medical device. It is a wellness and self-management tool.

  • A crisis hotline

  • A diagnostic tool
